NDIS OCCUPATIONAL THERAPY

Occupational Therapy for NDIS Participants

We provide mobile, in-home NDIS occupational therapy services throughout Brisbane, the Sunshine Coast, Gold Coast, Moreton Bay, Logan, Gympie and the Fraser Coast.

Our occupational therapists come to you to support you in your own home. We support you to stay independent, safe, and engaged in the things that matter to you and support people on NDIS plans that are both plan-managed or self-managed

We understand that under the NDIS, clear documentation and alignment with funding criteria are essential. Our occupational therapists provide structured, evidence-based reports while keeping the focus on practical recommendations that improve everyday function and independence.

What Occupational Therapy Really Means for NDIS Participants

Occupational therapy is about participation in everyday life.

It’s about being able to shower safely, prepare meals, move confidently around your home, manage fatigue, use equipment effectively, and take part in the activities and roles that matter to you.

Rather than focusing only on diagnosis, occupational therapy focuses on function, what you need and want to do each day to live more independently.

Our occupational therapists work with you in your home and community to build confidence, improve safety, reduce risks, and support greater independence in everyday life.

We support NDIS participants who require:

  • Functional Capacity Assessments for plan reviews
  • Assistive Technology funding applications
  • Home modification assessments
  • SIL and SDA housing documentation
  • Capacity building therapy within the home

Our approach balances clinical reasoning with practical application.

We support participants who may:

  • Need equipment to improve independence
  • Want to live more safely at home
  • Require home modifications (rails, bathroom changes, ramps)
  • Need therapy to improve physical or cognitive function
  • Require documentation to support funding decisions

We focus on what makes the biggest difference in your everyday life!

What to Expect at Your First Appointment

Your occupational therapist will:

  • Learn about your goals
  • Understand your medical history and current supports
  • Look at how you manage daily activities
  • Identify areas where you may need equipment, therapy, or modifications

We develop an ‘occupational profile’, which simply means we understand what you can do independently, where you need support, and what outcomes matter most to you. From there, we create a clear plan that is tailored to you.

Working With Your Support Team

We work closely with and accept referrals from:

  • Support coordinators
  • Case managers/Plan managers
  • GP’s and Doctors
  • Carers and family members

Timely communication and professional relationships are essential to how we operate and at TRS we pride ourselves on this. Our goal is to make the referral process simple, clear and efficient.
